Introduction to Basic AutoCAD RAC-1 Drawing and Base Mapping for Stream Restoration #1

Instructors: Multiple Instructors with 5-30 years of experience working with AutoCAD and Rivers

 This course is one of 12 courses in the RAC (River AutoCAD) curriculum. All RAC courses are designed to have three 4-hour training sessions with 3 hours of active online instruction associated with each 4-hour training session.  It is expected that some participants will be able to consume and complete each 4-hour training session within the allotted session and others will require more time and assistance for successful completion. The course includes access to a shared Dropbox, example files, a delayed chat season, and access to on-call assistance for an additional cost.  This course is modular and future RAC courses will be built upon the curriculum taught in this course. A completion exam is also included in the published course cost.  After the successful examination, a participant will be able to schedule and purchase the next level of RAC training from RiverSHARED with affiliated instructors. The completion exam can be administered by RiverSHARED for a cost of $50 without the completion of the course, to allow a participant to skip a course to conserve time and resources.

 This RAC course is supported be non-AutoCAD technical support that is included in the optional AS-1 Course. The AS (AutoCAD Support) course is designed to help the participants have a better understanding of why non-AutoCAD tolls are being used in conjunction with the RAC curriculum.

 What you will learn:

This course is intended to introduce AutoCAD and Base Mapping for Stream Restoration and requires no experience or additional training.  The following commands of AutoCAD are some of the aspects that will be emphasized during this course.

Command Lines, Menu Bar, User Interfaces, Lines, Boundaries, Hatches, Polylines, Layers, Filters, Layer Management, Basic Drawing, Blocks, Map Import from ESRI, Map Export to Google Earth, Adersheet and many others.
